Goisern sits 504 m above sea level and has 7,800 inhabitants.
Filled
with shoals of little fish the river Traun runs
through this spa town flowing from Lake Hallstatt, which joins the
southern tip of Bad Goisern, to Bad Ischl (the former royal city
and spa town) to the north. As with all towns in Austria the buildings
in Goisern are covered in flowers in summer. Here the air here is
clean and the many brooks and natural wells are full of drinking
water. There are plenty of places to eat (including a superb
cake house), shops, a music school and a bank, to name but a few.
