Bad
Goisern
A
holiday town in summer and winter alike, Bad Goisern is central
to 31 villages nestling gently in the rolling hills of the scenic
Goisertal valley. The
healing iodine sulphur medicinal spring gave Bad Goisern its name
- Bad meaning bath or spring.
There
are a wide range of cultural events, sports highlights, traditional
festivals and activities - such as swimming
or skiing, snowshoe
hiking or mountain biking,
plus a lot more
there
are also a vast variety of customs as well as the typical Austrian
folk-music. Come and find out what a "Schützenmahler"
is or visit a "Schafmusterung".
It
has to be said that this impressive landscape is designed for
walking: in the valley, to the nearby Hallstätter
See; for hiking: on the gentle slopes, or for mountaineering on
the surrounding peaks. Well-kept hiking and mountain
tracks stretch for more than 150
kilometres across the Kalmberg, Hütteneck,
Predigstuhl, Dachstein, and Ewige
Wand mountains to name but a few. Read
